a Native of Norlina NC, which is a small town
located between beautiful Lake Gaston and Kerr Lake. Lorie grew up
learning the flower business from her mother Linda. Along with
running a full service florist shop, Linda also provided custom
picture framing which proved to be a winning combination for the
small rural town of Norlina. The business during that time was
named Hundley's Flowers & Frames and Linda ran it for 30 years
before selling it to another owner. When in 2004 the new owner
relocated, Lorie decided to
rekindle the family business in it's original location under the
name Heritage House.
A close friend of the family, Mrs. Freida Haun
(age 93), taught Lorie the craft of Chair Caning 5 years ago.
Lorie was so impressed with how much fun it was to take an old
antique caned chair and restore it back to its original state that
she decided to integrate her newly found hobby into her business.
As Lorie states, "It’s interesting to see what kind of chair will
come through the door next. Whether it is a precious antique,
Grandma’s rocker or a great flea market find, we can restore your
chair bottom to new life. Our services include pressed cane
(cane webbing), hand woven cane, binding cane, splint fiber and
natural rush, shaker tape, French caning, and leather embossed
seating. We use only select cane and the waiting time is
usually less than 2 weeks."
"So, if you’ve ever wished you had a brand new
‘bottom’ for your chair, you’ve come to the right place. Visit
us today in the small historic town of Norlina in Warren County
North Carolina, just 50 miles north of Raleigh."
